About Automotive Division
Sime UMW’s Automotive Division encompasses two of Malaysia’s most prominent automotive brands: Toyota and Perodua. Together, they cater to a broad spectrum of consumers, offering vehicles that range from accessible compact cars to premium models.
UMW Toyota Motor, a joint venture between UMW Holdings, Toyota Motor Corporation and Toyota Tsusho Corporation, serves as the exclusive distributor and assembler of Toyota and Lexus vehicles in Malaysia. With assembly plants in Shah Alam and Bukit Raja, the company produces popular models like the Vios, Yaris and Hilux. Perodua, established in 1993, is Malaysia's largest car manufacturer, specialising in compact vehicles. With a focus on affordability and quality, Perodua has become a household name, producing models such as the Myvi, Axia and Bezza.
