About Aerospace
Sime UMW's Aerospace Division is the first Malaysian business to become a Tier-1 aero engine component supplier to Rolls-Royce. Established in 2015, the company manufactures critical components for the Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 and Trent 7000 engines, contributing to global aviation supply chains.
Operating from its state-of-the-art facility in Serendah, Selangor, UMW Aerospace supports the Rolls-Royce assembly plant in Derby, UK. The company was built on Lean Manufacturing principles under its LEANaero® philosophy—prioritising efficiency, sustainability and customer satisfaction. Backed by global standards and industry certifications, UMW Aerospace exemplifies Malaysia’s potential to innovate, manufacture and deliver at world-class levels—setting new benchmarks for the local aerospace ecosystem.
